Excellent Performance by International College Students in the Shandong Province Chinese Classics Reading Competition

Published:2022-10-17

Recently, our students Chanuo Tan and Hejin An gave outstanding performances in the Shandong Province Chinese Classics Reading Competition and received awards for their performances. Specifically, Chanuo Ta, mentored by teacher Yu Wang, received the Second Prize of Shandong Province in addition to being nominated to the national competition. While Hejin An received the Third Prize of Shandong Province guided by teachers Yu Wang and Xingzhen Duan. Furthermore, Yu Wang was given an “outstanding teacher” award in the competition.

The competition was conducted based on video submissions with students reading Chinese classics. Our teachers assisted participants in title selection, reading pronunciation, video recording, and video editing.

Both of our students love speaking mandarin as well as Chinese culture. Chanuo Ta read “China under the moonlight” while Hejin An performed the “Three Tang poems.” Both of which showcased the artistry and beauty of Mandarin and Chinese culture. Through this competition, our participants improved their speaking skills and deepened their understanding of Chinese culture.
